Welcome to Whatshan
Guides & Outfitters. We offer guided big game hunts and
outdoor trips in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia,
Canada.
Whatshan
Guides & Outfitters guide area is located in
south central B.C. Canada on the West boundary of Region 4 .
This area is called the West Kootenay with the Columbia River
bordering us on the East side .The Monashee Mountain range is
the heart of this large and diverse guide area with elevations
ranging from 1500 to 8000 feet in elevation. These
mountains and the surrounding area provides
both winter and summer range for a large variety of big game
animals . Our exclusive guide area covers approximately 1600 square
miles of hunting area. Throughout this large area we have placed
our camps to accommodate our hunts for both spring and fall. All
our main camps have log cabins with wood heaters & electric
lights provided by generators. The base camp on Whatshan Lake
also has hot showers and is visited by the clients on most
hunts. At different times of the year Whatshan Lake provides
some excellent fishing and there is always a boat and spare
fishing rods on hand.
Big game
species found throughout the guide area are GRIZZLY BEAR, BLACK
BEAR, ELK, MOOSE, MTN GOAT, MULE DEER, WHITETAIL DEER, COUGAR,
LYNX, BOBCAT & WOLF. You may hunt these species individually or on a
combination hunt.
